I’m tired. I’m not sure if I’m heading into a flare from birthday stuff or if I’ve just overdone it the past two days (or a combination). I’m also dealing with side effects from meds and other medication changes. I’m trying to find a POTS specialist in my area since my primary care doctor doesn’t want to treat it. It’s frustrating because I tried going to a cardiologist she’d referred me to and the guy was awful, but she doesn’t know anyone else so I’m stuck searching for doctors on my own. My old cardiologist discharged me because ‘that’s how we want the pots clinic to work, we see you three times and then send you in your way’, as if POTS goes away. It’s definitely also because they get so many patients and need open spots, but come on, just hire more doctors and be done with it (I know it’s not that simple, but I can hope).
I started putting together a puzzle, it’s something I’m trying to get into more. I got a puzzle mat for my birthday, it’s one of those wood ones with drawers and it came with a plastic sheet to protect the puzzle you’re working on from dust and pets. It’s super nice so far. My mom and I worked on it yesterday while listening to Glass Animals newest album on CD, which my sister got for me for my birthday. I saw Glass Animals a year or two ago in concert for this specific album so it cool to get to listen to it in CD instead of just Spotify. I want to collect and display CDs, my reasoning for that instead of vinyls is because they’re cheaper, smaller/easier to store, and kind of less fragile. Plus it’s a good gift idea.
It was super nice outside yesterday, I got two books from the library and started reading one while sitting outside on my front porch. I love my front porch, it’s a good size and has a hanging bench and two rocking chairs, and we put a table on it as well so there’s a place to set things. It’s nice to sit out there in the spring and summer to read, or sit with others and chat.
I applied for a video game writing job/volunteer role last month, and had an interview with them but I didn’t get it. I think I’m going to take a break from applying to these types of things because of my health. It’s hard because even though I’m on a discord channel for these types of job postings it doesn’t guarantee I’ll get hired, and I say hired loosely because it is all volunteer roles and kind of lower stakes than a paid role with a non-indie game studio. I would love to be a part of a team and write for it, but I also want to work on this blog more which is more accessible to me because of my health. Being able to write on my own time, with little commitment/deadlines works better for me at the moment, so that’s what I’ll do. It doesn’t help that I’m also in the proc
