About Me

I was never a super energetic child, this can be greatly attributed to my genetic condition, something that has been limiting me my entire life, but it’s never stopped me from being creative (some may say that it’s actually helped). I like seeing the good in things, I wouldn’t say I’m particularly good at it, but it can help.

My creativity has always been a part of me, whether it be writing stories when I was a child, experimenting in art class, or later finding my interest in crochet and knitting, I’d say it’s one of my defining features (see me writing ‘creative’ in every ‘about me’ in school). Art has been the thing that’s carried me through my life, every bad thing that’s happened has been helped by my passion, and every good thing has been celebrated by it. This has taken many forms: crochet, painting, drawing, 3D modeling, digital art, jewelry making, resin, and so on. I didn’t mention writing in there for one main reason: I haven’t seen it as important or a key detail about me up until recently, even though I’ve been writing my whole life. Identity is a delicate thing, and we often define our own identity by our interests, hobbies, loved ones, careers, gender, sexuality, race, school, etc., and sometimes we don’t notice these until it hits us in the face. Writing was one of those things for me.

All this to say that writing, just like my other hobbies, has carried me. In middle school and some of high school, I had a blog that was my coping mechanism for the dozens of hospital visits and admissions that filled my teen years. In my later teens and now into my early adult life, it’s been a way for me to process things, and to learn more about myself. Now I’m hoping it will become a creative outlet, just as my more hands-on hobbies have been, and I’d love to inspire others to do the same.

This blog is a way for me to hone these things into one solid foundation and place, so welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m B, and I hope you find enjoyment in my scribbles.
